چکیده
ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effect kaempferol (KAE), an effective constituent Buddleja officinalis, on human corneal epithelial cells (HCECs) under a hyperosmolar environment. Methods HCECs were cultured in DMEM/F12 medium and allocated into four groups: normal, model, vehicle, KAE. Ki67 staining was used detect HCEC proliferation; TdT-mediated dUTP Nick-End Labeling apoptosis; quantified real-time PCR mRNA relative expression levels TNF-α, IL-6, p38. Western blot reveal protein Results Compared with those normal group, proliferation ability significantly inhibited apoptosis rate notably increased model group; but KAE could effectively improve reduce apoptosis. expressions p38 which decreased after intervention. Conclusion promote cell apoptosis, as well inhibit inflammatory factors hypertonic-induced via p38MAPK pathway.

Chronic intermittent hypobaric hypoxia attenuates monocrotaline-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension via modulating inflammation and suppressing NF-κB /p38 pathway
Objective(s): Inflammation is involved in various forms of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Although the pathophysiology of PAH remains uncertain, NF-κB and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) has been reportedto be associated with many inflammatory mediators of PAH. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of chronic intermittent hypobaric hypoxia (CIHH) on pulmonary inflammat...
متن کاملKaempferol Inhibits Pancreatic Cancer Cell Growth and Migration through the Blockade of EGFR-Related Pathway In Vitro
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most appalling cancers with a pessimistic prognosis. Despite many therapies, there has been no improvement of survival rates. In this study, we assessed the anti-cancer effects of kaempferol, a well known flavonoid having functional bio-activity against various malignant tumors. Kaempferol had anti-cancer effects on Miapaca-2, Panc-1, and SNU-213 human pancreatic...
متن کامل17-β-estradiol inhibits hyperosmolarity-induced proinflammatory cytokine elevation via the p38 MAPK pathway in human corneal epithelial cells
PURPOSE To evaluate the effects of 17-β-estradiol on hyperosmolar stress-induced proinflammatory cytokine production of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in SV40-immortalized human corneal epithelial cells (hCECs) and the regulatory effects of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathways in this process. METHODS SV40 hCECs cultured in normal o...
متن کاملDry eye disease and inflammation
Dry eye disease is a devastating and multifactorial disorder of the tear-film layer and ocular surface. Multiple symptoms include multiple eye irritation, and visual disturbances, and signs have tear-film instability, along with the potential for injuring the ocular surface. Accumulating evidence indicates that dry eye disease is accompanied by hyperosmolarity of the tear film and inflammation ...
متن کاملKaempferol targets estrogen-related receptor α and inhibits cell proliferation and invasion in retinoblastoma via Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway
Retinoblastoma is a pediatric retinal tumor caused by mutational inactivation of the tumor suppressor pRb, and the present study aims to examine the role of kaempferol in retinoblastoma and explore its underlying molecular mechanisms. The mRNA and protein expression levels were measured by quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blot, respectively; cell growth and invasion was determin...
